Creekside Lemonade Stand

Creekside CDC – 3-5 class

The Creekside Child Development Centre’s 3-5 class hosted their annual lemonade stand in late July. This event offers children opportunities to practice teamwork, handling money, communication skills, responsibility, and creativity, all while engaging with their community, especially those enjoying a sunny day along the seawall.

The cheerful chant of the children, “Lemonade and crunchy ice, sip it once, sip it twice,” could be heard along the walkway near the dragon boat docks, inviting many passersby to stop and enjoy a refreshing cup on those hot days.

Both new and familiar faces joined in, including Creekside’s parents, siblings, and both infant and toddler groups. And our friends from West 8th who came by for a drink after their volunteer work at Creekside.

A special highlight was when the Vancouver fireboat rescue officers stopped by for some lemonade before heading to their boat, named “Discovery.” Once on board, they honked the horn and waved at the children as they sailed away.

These fun-filled days created lasting memories and a valuable experience, while also serving as a fundraiser that allowed the group to purchase new toys for their classroom.
