Job Title: SUMMER PROGRAM WORKER (RESIDENTIAL PROGRAMS) | #1999
Service Area: Residential Services
Location: Richmond, BC
Start Date: May 01, 2025 (Ending August 31, 2025)
Term/Status: Temporary Full Time
Schedule/Hours: Tuesday to Saturday 09:30-17:00 // 37.5 hours per week 
Hourly Wage:
$22.00

The Role:

This position involves recreational programming, instruction, and assisting with activities of daily living.  It involves representing the Association by participating in community events. Shift schedule are subject to change as program and department needs dictate.

*This position is subject to funding by Canada summer jobs. Position is conditional based on approval of application request by Service Canada.

Requirements/Education/Experience:

  • Experience in assisting individuals in all aspects of daily living (total personal care, feeding, bathing, dressing, etc.)
  • Knowledge of and ability to work with challenging behaviors.
  • Knowledge of and ability to deal effectively with behaviors associated with mental health, an asset.
  • Post-secondary education or training in a related field.
  • Must be between ages of 19-30 at intake time, legally entitled to work in Canada, not hold another full time (30 or more hours) summer job.
  • Direct experience with people with developmental disabilities.
  • Training in behavior management techniques.
  • Criminal Record Clearance
  • Medical Clearance
  • Valid First Aid/CPR
  • TB Test Clearance
  • Demonstrated competency in English
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Must be Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold Refugee status

*This position requires Union membership.
