JOB TITLE: SUMMER PROGRAM WORKER (GROUP HOMES) | 2173
SERVICE AREA: Living Options
LOCATION: Vancouver, BC
TERM: Temporary Full Time
START DATE: May 15, 2026 (Ending August 31, 2026)
SCHEDULE/HRS: Mon, Tues 09:00-16:30, Wed, Thurs 09:30-17:00, Friday 10:30-18:00 // 37.5 hours per week
*Shift times and hours may vary slightly as this position is subject to funding.
(min. 30 to max. 37.5 hours per week)
HOURLY WAGE: $22.66 as per the collective agreement

THE ROLE:
This position involves recreational programming, instruction, and assisting with activities of daily living. It involves representing the Association by participating in community events.
*This position is subject to funding by Canada Summer Jobs and is conditional based on approval of the application request by Service Canada.

REQUIREMENTS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  •  Experience in assisting individuals in all aspects of daily living (total personal care, feeding, bathing, dressing, etc.)
  • Knowledge of and ability to work with challenging behaviors.
  • Knowledge of and ability to deal effectively with behaviors associated with mental health, an asset.
  • Post-secondary education or training in a related field.
  • Must be between ages of 19-30 at intake time, legally entitled to work in Canada, and not hold another full time (30 or more hours) summer job.
  • Direct experience with people with developmental disabilities.
  • Training in behavior management techniques.
  • Criminal Record Clearance
  • Medical Clearance
  • Valid First Aid/CPR
  • TB Test Clearance
  • Demonstrated competency in English
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Must be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or hold Refugee status
