Job Title: PAYROLL ASSISTANT | #1971
Service Area: Payroll
Location: Richmond, BC
Start Date: March 17, 2025
Term/Status: Permanent Full Time
Schedule/Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00-16:00 // 37.5 hours per week
Hourly Wage:
$30.18 as per collective agreement

The Role:

This position provides effective payroll and administrative support to the Finance Department through efficient, accurate, and timely processing of the payroll and benefits information.

Requirements/Education/Experience:

  • Completed two years of post-secondary training in areas such as Payroll, Business Administration, or Accounting
  • Minimum two years of experience working in a payroll function or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Experience with all aspects of benefits administration.
  • Completion or working towards completion of Payroll Compliance Practitioner certification
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now or similar processing software, and union payroll is an asset
  • Demonstrated computer skills with MS Office, accurate typing skills with intermediate level Excel and Word
  • Strong organizational skills and strong attention to details
  • Ability to work under pressure and ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Good interpersonal skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to respond/communicate with public and staff in a positive, professional, and courteous manner.
  • Ability to follow instructions, work independently, set priorities, and work to meet tight deadlines with a high volume and fast-paced payroll.
