The Coordinator – Family Support Services provides families with information, support and services to strengthen and empower them to maintain their family unit.

Start Date: 15 October 2019
Term/Status: Permanent Full Time
Schedule/Hours: Mon/Tue/Wed/Thu/Fri 9:00-17:00  //  37.5 hours per week, flexibility required to meet family/ caregiver needs
Hourly Wage: $28.25-$29.73 per collective agreement

Requirements/Education/Experience:

  • Professional degree from a University or College of recognized standing in a field related to family support
  • Three to five years experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and their families
  • Knowledge of the school system in B.C. and various government agencies related to disability
  • Experience in facilitating groups
  • Three years of supervisory experience
  • Strong background in adult/child development and advocacy preferred
  • Criminal Record Clearance
  • Medical Clearance
  • Satisfactory Driver’s Abstract
  • Class 5 Driver’s License and use of a vehicle for work
  • Valid First Aid/CPR
  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention Certification
  • Demonstrated competency in English
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Eligible to work in Canada
  • Must work evenings and weekends as required
