The Awake Night Staff (AWNS) provides a safe, comfortable, and home-like environment for each resident with the opportunity for each resident to develop life skills to the limits of their desire and potential. The AWNS also ensures good communication between team members, family, and professionals with regard to the life of the individual.

Job Title: Awake Night Staff
Location: Vancouver
Start Date: 03 November 2020
Term/Status: Permanent Full Time
Schedule/Hrs: Week 1: Mon/Tue/Fri/Sat/Sun 21:00-7:30, Week 2: Wed/Thu 21:00-7:30 // 36.75 hours per week
Hourly Wage: $20.16 per collective agreement

Requirements/Education/Experience:

  • Degree or Diploma in area directly related to supporting people with developmental disabilities such as Social Sciences, Human Services, or Education
  • 1-2 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or related experience
  • Experience with or training in the areas of adaptive communication, positive behaviour support, and community care is an asset
  • Must be able to perform lifts and transfers of 60lbs
  • Positive Behavioural Reinforcement training preferred
  • Valid First Aid/CPR certificate
  • Criminal Record Clearance
  • Medical Clearance
  • Demonstrated competency in English written and verbal communication
  • Eligible to work in Canada
