Job Title: Assistant
Location: Richmond, Head Office
Start Date: As soon as possible
Term/Status: Permanent Full Time
Schedule/Hours: Flex time // 37.5 hours per week

Job Goal: To assist/support Assistant Director by carrying out administrative tasks, particularly in relation to data and technology management.

Performance Responsibilities:

  • Word processing
  • Data organization/entry
  • Document distribution upon request
  • Document management/filing (electronic/hardcopy)
  • Project timeline tracking
  • Material creation and duplication from master
  • Maintain resource catalogue, distribution, and tracking systems
  • Assist with setup, maintenance, and tracking of iPads and other technologies
  • Receiving, organizing and preparing new resources for distribution
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Education – Required

  • Grade 12, plus completion of at least one year of specialized training in related field (office administration, technology, systems development, etc.)

Experience – Required

  • Work experience related to Job Responsibilities
  • Two years of administrative experience
  • Experience with iPad technology
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, mental health disorders, or other disabilities

Experience – Preferred

  • Experience using assistive communication programs (Boardmaker, TouchChat, Proloquo2Go)
  • Experience with organization systems set-up and maintenance
  • Experience with innovation and adaptive technology

Skills/Abilities – Required

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, accurate typing skills, 60 wpm
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective in organization and planning skills
  • Proficiency working with a variety of office equipment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to learn and quickly adapt to new technologies
