Service Area: Vocational & Community Services
Location: Vancouver, BC
Start Date: May 04, 2026 (Ending August 21, 2026)
Term/Status: Temporary Full Time
Schedule/Hours: Flex-Time // 35 hours per week *shift times & hours may vary slightly as this position is subject to funding (min. 30 to max. 37.5 hours per week)
Hourly Wage:
$22.66 as per the collective agreement

The Role:

This position involves assisting with art related activities for adults with developmental disabilities. The role will require planning activities, sourcing materials, managing the art budget, facilitating programming and instruction of art classes. The successful applicant may also help with hosting an art show and coordinating with other community agencies to showcase the art and raise awareness of the accomplishments of individuals with diverse abilities.

*This position is subject to funding by Canada summer jobs. Position is conditional based on approval of application request by Service Canada.

Requirements/Education/Experience:

  • Post-secondary education or training in a related field is an asset (Fine Arts, Therapeutic Recreation)
  • Must be between ages of 18 – 30 at intake time, legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Working knowledge or experience with people in the area of arts, recreation, or/and leisure
  • Experience with, or training in the development of class content & implementation, adaptive communication, and positive behaviour support is an asset.
  • Criminal Record Clearance
  • Medical Clearance
  • Demonstrated competency in English
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License is an asset
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Must be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold Refugee status
